Skokie courthouse is the Second Municipal District Court and is often referred to as the Old Orchard courthouse. Skokie is one of five courthouses located in the suburbs of Cook County.

Which Municipalities Have Their Cases Heard at the Skokie Courthouse?

Municipalities across the northern suburbs of Cook County are assigned to the Skokie courthouse. The cities and villages served by the Skokie courthouse include Deerfield, Des Plaines, Evanston, Glencoe, Glenview, Golf, Kenilworth, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, Niles, Northbrook, Northfield, Park Ridge, Skokie, Wilmette, and Winnetka. If you were ticketed or charged by any of these local police departments, your case will be assigned to be heard at the Skokie courthouse.

In addition to these municipalities, the Illinois State Police, Cook County Sheriff's Police and Cook County Forest Preserve Police all have court assignments at the Skokie courthouse as well.

What are the Courtroom Assignments at the Skokie Courthouse?

Traffic violations, criminal charges, and DUI cases are all heard at the Skokie courthouse. Traffic and misdemeanor criminal cases are heard in courtrooms 101, 102, 103 and 104. These cases may be heard at three different times throughout the day: 9 am, 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. Felony cases are heard at either 9:30 am or 10 am in courtrooms 107, 108, 206, 207, 208 and 209. Courtroom 105 primarily hears bond hearings and preliminary hearings. Courtroom 102 also hears motions.

The Skokie courthouse is open between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.
