The Maywood Courthouse has a high volume of both DUI and general misdemeanor criminal cases from various suburbs in the northwestern portion of Cook County.

Each of these municipalities has assigned court appearance dates throughout the month when the Arresting Officers are scheduled to appear for both petty offense and misdemeanor DUI cases.

Who Prosecutes DUI Cases at the Maywood Courthouse?

All of the DUI arrests made by the villages and cities listed above (as well as Illinois State Police and Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department) within the Fourth Municipal District are prosecuted by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. In contrast, there are also local prosecutors that have been hired to represent the various villages and municipalities in the Fourth Municipal District in order to prosecute various non-criminal traffic matters and ordinance violations at the Maywood Courthouse.
