Franklin Park Man Faces Up to 12 Years After Pleading Guilty to DUI

David A. Lobb, 31, of the 1900 block of North Rose Street plead guilty to driving drunk after he flipped his SUV and hit another vehicle, seriously injuring the other driver.

The crashed occurred on November 3, 2005 at Randall Road and McHenry Avenue.

Lobb is charged with a Class 4 felony which is punishable by a sentence ranging from probation to 12 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for November 19.

On the day of the crash, Lobb was driving home from a day of golf in Crystal Lake when he attempted to turn off McHenry Ave and lost control of his Jeep Cherokee. The 37 year old victim suffered numerous fractures to his right leg in the collision.

Lobb’s BAC tested after the crash showed 0.177 percent, more than twice the legal limit.

Mr. Lobb’s criminal defense attorney stated that after five years of fighting the case Lobb decided it was the “right thing to do” and is ready to admit his guilt and accept his punishment.
