Chicago Man Charged with DUI in Party Bus Crash on Eisenhower

Andy Darrell Taylor, 28, of Chicago, was charged with DUI after allegedly sideswiping a party bus on the Eisenhower Expressway. Around 2:30AM, the SUV hit the left side of the bus and rolled over, injuring four people in that vehicle and fifteen on the party bus. Luckily, most of the injuries were minor but one person reportedly sustained a broken leg. According to some passengers, the occupants of the bus were celebrating the birthday of a family member who had passed away. Many of the passengers were reportedly standing, dancing and drinking when the collision occurred.

According to Illinois State Police, in addition to driving under the influence, Taylor was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, failure to signal, driver’s license not on person, and no valid insurance. The driver of the bus was charged with no valid insurance, suspended vehicle registration, and overloading a bus.
