Chicago Bear Evan Rodriguez Arrested for DUI

Chicago Bears fullback Evan Rodriguez, 24, expressed regret on Sunday for his “poor decision” that resulted in a DUI arrest on Friday. Rodriguez was pulled over by the Illinois State Police for speeding and improper lane usage on I-90 and Hubbard Street at approximately 3:30AM.

The incident is his second arrest in recent months. Rodriguez was arrested this past March in Miami for resisting an officer without violence and disordely intoxication after a car in which he was a passenger was involved in a traffic incident. The charges were eventually dropped by prosecutors.

The Bears stated that they were aware of the arrest and were looking into the incident. This most recent incident reportedly jeopardizes Rodriguez’s status with the team. In his apology he expressed that he would “make positive changes… so that this doesn’t happen again.”

I want to extend my sincere gratitude for the success in getting my charges reduced. It has been a rather traumatic experience for me. Though I try to keep an optimistic outlook, it didn't seem possible. But you guys pulled it off and I couldn't be more grateful. This has been a great weight lifted off my shoulders. D.F.

I am very grateful for your work and representation. Although it is difficult for me to truly express my gratitude through e-mail, I hope you can still understand how thankful I am that we were able to dismiss my case on the first court date. I am very pleased with the outcome. Again, thank you very much for your time. Please enjoy the rest of your week. D.K.
