The former school bus driver who is accused of transporting 50 students on a seven mile bus route with a BAC level of .226 has pleaded not guilty at her Rolling Meadows arraignment. Betty Burden allegedly failed field sobriety tests after being stopped and was subsequently charged with felony DUI. A squad video of the bus was turned over to Burden’s criminal defense attorney. If convicted, she could be sentenced to three years in prison. Burden is currently free on bail and was fired by the Mount Prospect school district after her arrest.
