Rolando Robledo, 33, of Chicago is facing felony aggravated DUI and misdemeanor DUI charges after a crash involving a Chicago police sergeant. Around 2:22 a.m. on Wednesday, Robledo allegedly ran a red light and struck the Chicago squad car. The on-duty officer was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious to critical condition after it was later found he had extensive internal injuries. Robledo only suffered minor injuries and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital.
According to police, Robledo was also charged with driving with an open container of alcohol, criminal damage to government property, failure to reduce speed, driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance, failure to carry a valid ID and disobeying a traffic signal.
